I’d keep them there until after Halloween.  You mentioned in your other post that you’ll be having lots of trick-or-treaters come to your door and the kitties won’t be used to so much excitement.  It might be a bit much for them when they are trying to adjust to a new home and a dog.

Plus it gives you a couple of extra days to try to make sure they aren’t contagious but they still get to go home really soon!

Wait it out……you’ve been so patient so far!  What did the vet say about bringing them home this week?

Edit- and I agree about at least waiting until after Halloween.  Even if they don’t run out, they might get freaked out by all the door bell ringing!

I think maybe on Monday take them home?  I’m just nervous about your dog getting it.

Sorry to say, there really is no way to tell that they’re completely fungus free and not contagious. Usually you would need 3 consecutive clean tests over 6 months to be sure. And obviously it would be cruel to keep them there for another 6 months…I really think you and those poor kitties suffered enough, if it were me I’d just take them home. I know I sound like a broken record but my husband NEVER got ringworm while our cat actively had it, and I never got it again after my first tratment. It’s so easy to treat in humans anyway, I don’t think it’s worth the stress for any of you. Maybe you can keep them in a room at your home for a week or so before introductions to your dog.
