This is my engagement ring. I always loved the look of a soliatire with a diamond wedding band but lately I have really been drawn to halos. If I were to get the halo, I would probably add a cushion halo around my current diamond. But I am worried that I will regret it later on.
Do you guys think I should keep my ring as it is or add the halo? I really love both but my family is telling me that once I have the wedding band, I might feel differently about the halo.

ssmrg4416 : I love it as is! I think halos are great, but I also think they’re trendy. And in my mind, trendy usually ends up looking dated in a few decades. (Bees with halos, I love your rings and I could just be crazy–I’m not trying to hate on anyone’s rings)
You could try on a halo ring enhancer (which is essentially a non-permanent halo) to feel it out and then decide without it being a permanent change to your gorgeous ring. If you decide you no longer want a halo with your band, then you don’t have to wear the enhancer.
Like one of these:
Or if you really want a halo, go for it. But it sounds like you’re on the fence 🙂

ssmrg4416 : I LOVE your solitaire! I’m having a six prong OEC solitiare made now! I wouldn’t change your ring to a halo, but perhaps if you reflect back on the process of choosing your ring you will be more sure of what is right for you.

Bee, I adore your solitaire. It is timeless and has amazing finger coverage. I personally would not alter the ring one bit. However, with a stone like that I am sure that it would look good no matter how you style it. I just personally think that halo’s take away the attention from a center stone.

Im sort of going through the same situation. I love love love my solitaire, but I wish I had considered a 3 stone with trillion side stones (Center stone is a cushion).
I’m worried that I will go through the hassle of changing it and spending the extra money and then wanting my old setting back. Gah!

I would not change that ring.
At the very least, I agree with your family and would definitely wait until you have a band with it and see how you like it as a set before making any changes.

Don’t add a halo, the ring is beautiful on its own and so classic. I may be biased since I have a solitaire too though 🙂
maybe try a fun wedding band?

I’ll be honest, I have a gorgeous halo ring and I’m getting bored with it. I feel like everyone has halos now. I don’t feel unique. I think you’re ring is absolutely stunning and timeless. I wouldn’t change it

I’m partial to solitaires so I would definitely keep it! Halos take away from the center stone while solitaires let it shine and stand out which I prefer personally! Your ring is a stunner!!! You can always spice it up with wedding bands!

ssmrg4416 : I agree with your family, wait until you are wearing your wedding band before you decide, it might be all you need to totally fall in love with it again
