So I just found my dress! I was debating whether I want to add buttons on the dress. I love buttons, but am concerned it will take away from back of the dress. I’d get buttons to the point where the ruffles start. For reference, this is Junko Yoshioka Celia
Thanks for all your help!!!

Congratulations on finding a gorgeous dress! I’m a sucker for dresses with the loooonnngggg row of buttons down the back and think it would be a fabulous addition to this dress. I would definitely consult with your seamstress before getting your heart too set on adding them just to make sure that where the buttons stop will blend smoothly into the ruffles.

I like the addition of buttons. Are you also wearing the sash?

@LauraFourEyes: I love the dress! Buttons would be really pretty- either way you can’t go wrong!

@missoptimism: I just talked to the salon where I got the dress and they are contacting the designer for her opinion. I LOVE dresses with buttons – almost picked one that had a row all the way down, but these ruffles totally stole my heart. I agree though, if the buttons will mess up the look of the ruffles or stop at an odd location, then I am totally fine not getting them.

@little_d: Thanks! I started crying when I tried this one. I was totally expecting that I’d love a sheath dress with straps, but I ended up with a sweetheart fit and flare. Anyway, I love buttons on dresses, but if it doesn’t work out, I’ll be fine. I’m getting a different belt than the one shown here, so that may add something extra.

@sperie: I’m going to wear a different belt than the one pictured here. I haven’t picked it out yet, though, so I don’t have a link to post.

Sure! I think it’s pretty as is, but buttons would be a step above.

@LauraFourEyes: the back on that dress is sweet! love it. While it would look fine with buttons, it’s looks nice and simple without them.

@LauraFourEyes: Yes I think you should do it! The dress doesn’t have lots going on, so buttons would be a nice added detail and not too much. 🙂
