So I recently bought my wedding dress and the more I look at it the more I feel it could use some personalization. I’ve attached a picture of the dress below and want some advice on adding ruching to just the top part of my dress. Thank you for the help and advice!

Nooooo way! Keep it the way it is! It’s smooth and sleek! Ruching would just look weird on that style of dress, in my opinion. Honestly – it’s beautiful and doesn’t need anything else!

I think it would look good with ruching, it would give it some texture. Can you even add ruching to a dress?

I think smooth is nice- or add a layer of a sheer/textured fabric to the top- a seemstress should know how. Or cap sleeves? However, this dress doesn’t need anything IMO- it’s very elegant

Once its steamed and smoothed out, it will look PERFECT! Beautiful dress, fits you well and no reason to modify it, just my opinion.

The dress in the picture is obviously much too big for you. I think you will probably like it when it’s sized to you. I think the things that look a little strange about it are due to that, and not any problems with the dress itself, which is lovely.

I think it is beautiful as is, but if you want maybe you could add some ruched tulle to soften the top.

It’s perfect and chic the way it is! I don’t think ruching would work…

Ruching? Probably not because it has pleats already… Looks good by the way!
