Sometimes my wedding planner will suggest things, and ill find an option that i think is cheaper/better. I look at reviews and do research of course…but now im wondering if im being foolish not listening to her suggestions and its going to come back and shoot me in the foot
for example – she quoted me 1100 dollars for wedding transportation – 2 coaches for a total of 100 people, from hotel to venue and back. I used a reputable mexican wedding website called bodaclick that has lists of main vendors in the area (cancun) and im getting cheaper quotes
if i ask her her opinion on my other options she just says she doesnt know, she only knows her vendors.
my budget is stretched to the limit, so a few hundred dollars here and there really makes a difference. but i dont want to ruin my own wedding by choosing a bad option

I don’t think that you always have to. A lot of times the wedding planner and the vendors have relationships and try to throw business the other ones way. Check around on the Bee and see what other ladies have used or will be using.
On the other hand, you are paying her for a job. Once she is staying within budget, let her do her thing. Hope everything works out.

You don’t always have to use your planner’s suggestions, and the vendors she recommends are people that she’s worked with in the past and has a successful relationship with. She can also negotiate discounts with vendors that you can’t.
I would read reviews of the cheaper vendors and see what other people think of them. If they seem easy to work with then I would go with that. And if your wedding planner is always pushing things on you that are out of your budget, a serious talking to is needed!

No, you don’t have too. Most of the time Wedding Planners go with people I know. I let my wedding planner know if I have found something cheaper. It’s your money, you don’t have to go with everything she says.
