I received this email… my name is not Roxana (My name is Roxanne though… close but close enough for my liking) and I don’t know who this is, signed John but email address is Kennedy… What’s got me is that my email is my nickname and it is not a popular spelling of the nickname so you would actually have to KNOW me to know the spelling.
Roxana,
Can we please talk about the co pays when you return from CA? I know it’s been liberal with me paying the co pays for pt when I take him and you pay when you take him. But are you paying the Maureen co pays when you take him?
I’m also getting the bills for his wheel chair and st v’s and stuff from UMMC.
I am not complaining, just want to get a better handle on it, that’s all
Thanks
John

Do you know what he is even referring to? I’d ask for more info, maybe see if you can talk on the phone if you do think you know him?

@happyface: Is it possible he sent it to the wrong person? Do you know what he’s talking about? If not, I might just respond and say you think he e-mailed the wrong person.

My bet is it is spam/scam — if you don’t know who it is, don’t reply.

Don’t respond. It is likely a phishing email, just trying to provoke a response to gather legitimate email addresses for use by spam emailers.

It sounds like it just went to the wrong email. There are lots of email addresses out there so it’s not so unlikely that someone has one very similar to yours and this guy got a letter wrong or something.

Can you try to search for the email address that it came from? Sometimes that will let you know if it’s a scam or not. But obviously, the safest thing to do is just not to respond.

Then it probably is spam. That’s weird spam, too. Ive been getting it from applying to jobs on Craigslist.

@Future Mrs K: they will contact you again
I guess if it’s legit they will contact me again with “why aren’t you answering me” type of email… I will keep it in my inbox to see if that happens.

I got something like this before. It was either to or from a coach saying that practice was off or something weird. It was to first name the same as mine, but my last name is VERY uncommon, so I know it couldn’t have been a typo. I didn’t respond! and I wouldn’t in your case either I don’t think.
