I ordered my dress on April 2nd and my bridal shop (The Wedding Day in Fountain Valley, CA) told me that they would notify me via email when my dress company (Pronovias) had a shipment date for dress. Well it’s almost the end of the month and they still haven’t heard back from Pronovias with with shipment date.
I’m a little nervous and I don’t want to keep bugging my bridal shop since they already told me they hadn’t heard and would email me as soon as they did.
Is this normal to not hear anything about the shipment date for this long or am I being impatient??? Just curious how long it took for all you girls.

I heard something the next day. Granted I ordered a Maggie, but I don’t think it should take that long. I would call them and ask.

I don’t know if it’s normal, but I bought my dress last Thursday, ordered Friday and recieved an approximate date yesterday I think. My boutique is really small though, so it could be the reason. That and I was bothering the shop about getting my style #/designer so I could show the ‘bee.

When you order the dress, direct from the company, it usually takes about 6 months before you receive it, so they probably don’t have your shipment information yet. It has only been 18 days, since you ordered it. If I were you, I would contact your bridal shop and ask them what the normal time frame is for you to get shipment notifiacation, then mark that date on your calendar and call back then. When you call, just apologize to them for bothering them, and let them know you would just like to be able to put your mind at ease.

Wow, I ordered my dress back in December, and was never advised of any shipment date. The store just estimated that it might be in by the end of April, maybe the beginning of May, and we left it at that.

Maybe you could ask the dress shop if it’s normal for them not to hear for 3 weeks – or how long Pronovias usually takes for them. If it’s longer than usual, they should be able to call the designer and find out what’s what!

I am also a Pronovias bride. Ordered in December, got an approx ship date of end of March, and it’s late. Never got an “exact” date though… and I sort of hate the boutique I’m working with in Portland because they never return my calls 🙁 So I think it’s partially the boutique and partially Pronovias.

i ordered a sottero & midgley and got an approximate ship date 7 days later.
@PDXBride2010 : I’m also a portland bride. What is the name of the boutique you are using?

@dns567: Silver Lining Couture downtown. Really nice shop and friendly owner but a little disappointed that they are bad at returning phone calls. I’m in Seattle otherwise I’d just stop in there one of these days!

I just spoke to the bridal shop I bought it at and they told me that the estimated ship date was July 1st. That’s great because I was expecting it to be closer to my wedding date. Anyway, I think they tell everyone that they will email them when they get the shipment date, but they really don’t. It sounded great and amazing when they told me they do that. Oh well. Hopefully that is the real date and they aren’t just blowing me off. I get so paranoid when it comes to wedding stuff. Like everything is never simple and more complicated than it really is!
PDXBride2010: that must be hard to have your bridal shop not answer your calls! Yikes!
