@HeatherMM:I would be freaking out, but just breathe till tomorrow morning when you can call the post office.  I love UPS and Fedex for this reason exactly!

Shoot, that totally sucks 🙁  I’d be so pissed.  I hope you can get compensated for it

That’s awful! I hope you manage to get reimbursed for it somehow!

Oh noooo!  This is so awful!  Did you go through PayPal by any chance?  I believe they have a good protection policy…

DId you pay for insurance through ebay? I know there is an option sometimes when you buy.

Damn, that sucks, I hope you get a good outcome! Take a picture of the wonky flag in case you need it for proof!

Oh my gosh.  That sucks.  I am always amazed how people  can stoop so low as to steal things from other people.

I am so sorry this happened to you but I am afraid you will not be able to file a claim through pay pal as the item was in fact delivered.  As long as there is a delivery confirmation # that shows that an item was in fact “delivered” they cannot charge back the $ from the seller.  It wouldn’t be fair to the seller as they indeed sent the item.  As far as insurance is concerned, it ONLY works if the item was damaged or if the item was “lost” by the post office.  In this instance, insurance would have not done you any good.  Your postal worker was so wrong to leave it the way she did and I would definitely tell her to never do that again OR always request signature confirmation which would not allow them to leave a package without a signature.  An Ebay seller is required to get “signature confirmation” from a buyer but only when the item is $250 and over.  I am sorry to have to give you the awful news but this happened to me once where a package was stolen off my porch and I had no recourse.  And I have been an Ebay seller for over 10 years so I am familiar with pay pal guidelines.  Again I am so sorry this happened….I know exactly how you feel =(

@HeatherMM: I am sure you have, but did you search the area around the mail box. Would it be possible that it would be too heavy for the flag and then fall and roll somewhere?
