I’d be as confused as you are. I’m laughing right now, but I feel for you OP.

@MissMeowMeow:  As much as I don’t think you can be pissed at someone for not bringing a gift to your wedding- in this case, sadly, I would DEFINITELY be offended.  It’s not like you got them some glassware from Target (think $25-30ish)– you got them a fricken Kitchenaid Mixer- seriously- we are registered for one and I don’t expect that we will get one!! The only thing I can think of IS:  if they got you this statue and then ordered you something else that has yet to arrive- and they just wanted to see how you handled this?  Thinking it would be funny?  Your wedding was about 10 days ago, right?

I don’t know- you guys went ABOVE and BEYOND for them, IMO, I would have expected at least for a bit of thought to be put into your gift, and in this case, it doesn’t seem like much was put into it- unless they were seriously thinking about how they could cram your living area and offend you simotaneously.  In that case, they nailed it on the head!!

I know thi sprobably sounds rude, but I would politely offer thier gift BACK to them, explaining that while you think it’s was a nice gesture, it literally won’t fit in your home- so you figured the best thing to do would be to offer it to them.

Hope they weren’t trying to pass this thing off as an expensive gift or something!!
