Well…you could always go with fake flowers. It’s easy to go get your hair done. And hopefully you can come to terms with your body (as long as you fit in your dress). Get Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses from Dessy!

you can do it! 5 months is better than 2, right? As for losing 25lbs…. I think if you put your mind to it and worked for it you could do that to…I lost 42lbs in 3 months after I had my son.

I wouldn’t panic yet if I were you.  5mo is enough time to lose the weight you’re trying to lose… you probably won’t even have to lose the full 25 if you only ordered one size smaller.

Other than the weight, it seems like the most important thing would be finding dresses for your ladies, then the videographer & DJ.  You can often find DJs on craigslist… DJs are easier to get on short notice than photogs or videographers.

Most things I’ve read say to book your florist about 4 months before the wedding, so it looks like you have another month to figure that one out.

But overall, I would say not to worry… I think you have time to complete the things on your list and have a fabulous day!  :o)

@Mrs Scott to be: I thought about doing that too, but everytime I told someone, they’d tell me “no, are you crazy?!” lol. I’m trying to lose weight and thought it would be the best motivation to get to my goal! I agree with MsFoxxy- start scouring craigslist and book the photog/videog/dj! Do you have a complimentary color that BMs could wear?

I think you’re fine. You’ll prob have to buy Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses “off the rack” but whatever, you can find great ones at department stores. Start looking for a florist soon and book a DJ and videographer ASAP. My wedding is in June and I have yet to meet with a florist (I refuse to go fake), its not a big deal, i have appts with 3 florists in April and they all have my wedding day open.

ps. when I went to try my dress on last week the lady told me 1 dress size is typically 10lbs. she said I should stop dieting if I drop 20 lbs b/c of all my bead work and 2 sizes is going to be as far in as it’ll go beautifully. So aim for 25 but remember 10 should be fine!

That’s only about 5lbs a month, SOOO doable!!! Of course if your goal is to be underweight then maybe not πŸ™‚ But if your goal is a healthy weight you can do it. Getting started is the hardest, and then the momentum & little results along the way carry you from there.

Yeah aqua is a hard color… if you don’t get it right it can look like everyone’s ready for a baby shower! But if you find a great one it is gorgeous. I started out wanting coral dressed & ended up switching to a neutral pallette with blushes & champagnes to make my own life easier!

I think these long long engagements are kind of a new thing, and most people used to get married after maybe 3-5 month engagemnets! So don’t worry, there are plenty of great videographers/dj’s everywhere looking for work!

Invites on the other hand are pretty important, if you don’t get those checked off your list & mailed out on time you wont have much of a wedding turn out! I waited way to long! I’m rushing to get them to out of town guests 2 months in advance, so fingers crossed…

Hi! I’m sure you’ll be fine. I also have a 5 months or so to do LOADS of stuff (everything on your list minus the weight loss plus making invites, sorting out menswear, cake and musicians) and I feel okay. (a little bit stressed maybe but I know I’m in control!) If you make time to do one small thing everyday you will get there!! Maybe make a plan on a calendar, it might make you feel more on top of things?

Anyway: GOOD LUCK!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!
