It’s normal not to love every photo you get back and the fact you liked a lot of them should be a good sign. Remember that portfolios are only going to be the “good” ones. How much do you stand to lose by cancelling? If you are truly truly unhappy go with what you feel is better, but I don’t think #1 is that bad and the price is awesome…

I prefer the work of the second photographer. The first one seems very posed, formal – lots of weird faces where the people seem uncomfortable. I much prefer the candid style of the second one, I feel like it captures the moment much better. More photos doesn’t necesarily mean better – quality over quantity IMO.

I definitely prefer the second photographer.  That casual, candid style was also really important to me so I get the draw to her that you’re feeling.

One thing I would caution you against: Expecting and/or hoping that you’ll get different from the first photographer than what you’ve already seen on his website and from your engagement pics.  He certainly may be able to alter what he shoots based on additional examples that you give him BUT I wouldn’t go with him if that’s the only way you’ll be happy with the pictures.  You may end up really disappointed.  Make your decision based upon what you’ve already seen.
