@nanacholito:  I really like the original but other than that I guess I would go with the middle dress.

It’s difficult to see the detail in the ivory one. What needs to be fixed? I think it’s really cute! The other two dresses would be a bit much for an elopement IMO.

I think the dress looks great, and pretty much the same. The problem is that the original dress has contrast, so you can see all the detail, and it doesn’t look the same without the contrast. Have them do all the lace detailing in gold or ivory, or do an ivory/gold underlay like in the original dress, and I think it’ll look exactly the way you wanted.

I like the short dress, especially to elope! I think a big long dress is too much for an elopement. Maybe try a flashy sash with some jewels. Once you get all your makeup on and accessories, I think it will relaly transform the dress. But from what I can tell in the picture I think its really cute! Keep it!

If the original dress is so poorly made I don’t think it’s worth $500 to try and fix it. Basically the whole dress would have to be remade to make it look vintage. I’d just have a tailor make me a new one and be more specific about what I wanted.

I agree with PP that the other 2 dresses don’t look like elopement dresses. If you want that pretty vintagey contrast I’d have the underlay made in champagne. There are so many options for pretty short lace dresses.

Let me just say I am alittle jealous of you right now, I have wanted to originally elope in Italy. We wanted to include family and friends though, I did not want to spend alot so I opted for a backyard ceremony. Well one thing after another and the spending got out of control! I could have used that money to go to Italy!!! Haha Anyway good luck to you and your Fiance, I am sure it will be beautiful!

Now as to the dress…I think you should get it altered! Maybe you should also add a belt or something fun like that. A short dress would be fun, you and your husband can walk around the city or ride on a scooter with you in your cute dress. (imagining pictures!). Just throwing that out there, but if you are not feeling it, I would definitely search around and look for another short dress. I am not feeling the other two…but that is me…

The middle dress is very Parisian chic – I think you’ll be happier in the long run with that.
