Hi bees:
at this point I know I’m not getting engaged any time soon, and of course everyone else is (exaggeration)
but anyway today I thought, “hey… I should just buy myself a nice ring” I work hard and I feel like treating myself
not a diamond or anything, but maybe another gemstone? anyone else done this?

I wouldn’t wear it on your left ring finger, but otherwise treat yo self!

Do it! I buy myself jewelry when I find something I like. You deserve it!

I bought myself a ruby ring for a Valentines present last year, before I was engaged.

@bookworm88: ahahaha, I’ve been randomly yelling, “treat yo’self” since that one episode of Parks and Rec.
@alwaysamaid: definitely get yourself a pretty ring!

Absolutely!! As long as it isn’t a diamond engagement-y ring on your left hand, go for it! Everyone deserves something pretty…I’ve bought myself many right hand rings over the years!

@tea: yes! it has been my go-to line since that episode. “pizza for dinner? treat yo self. that weird sweatshirt off ebay? treat yo self!” my friends and I joke that we’re on the college-version of treating ourselves, since it mostly consists of little caesars or actually buying new pants! (grad school students are poor.)

Absolutely. I bought myself a diamond RHR several years back and lost it. I’ve since replaced it. Whether or not you’re engaged yet is irrelavent. There’s no rule out there that says a grown ass lady isn’t allowed to treat herself with something beautiful.
Do it!

Of course treat yoself! (I love P&R) But I will warn you. I did something similar when I was dating my ex… I wanted this bracelet for Christmas one year and even though it was pretty cheap (under $50, and I didn’t want anything else) he pretty much said no, he didn’t want to spend that much on me, and it was because a few weeks later he dumped me. I bought myself thebracelet, and although I like it, it holds very bittersweet memories. Don’t turn this ring into a bad memories ring.
