Personally, I would never buy a wedding dress without trying it on. I would keep calling around until I found it somewhere and then travel there (regardless of distance) to try it on. Sorry, I guess I’m not much help. Good luck!

I’d have to say I wouldn’t buy it without trying it on. That’s just too scary, especially if you’re not sure if it will make you look too hippy. It would be very heartbreaking to get the dress and realize that its not what you thought it would be!

I would advise against it because I’ve been in your situation and was fortunate to finally try on the dress I “fell in love with” in the magazines …. only to find out she wasn’t in love with me =

Dresses just look so much different on.. and because everyone has different body types, it’s hard to tell if it’ll look good until you try it on.

My measurements are a bout waist: 31 and hips: 42. I was worried about Maggie Sottero Ambrosia because it did have a dropped waist and I have a full figure. After trying it on I found out that it actually compliments my body.

I would still advise to try it on just in case because like pp’s have mentioned you never know. Maggie Sottero’s website lists all the stores that carry her dresses, have you tried to see if any of those bridal salons are near you?

@summer7911: I agree.  You should really try it on.  Many of us end up getting dresses we wouldn’t have even thought of!

I ordered my Sottero and Midgley dress without trying it on! I haven’t got it in yet but I knew it was the one for me. I kept comparing everything to it and I knew the style was the right fit for me. I advise that you try on similar shapes but I had to order mine without trying it on bc NOWHERE in any neighboring states had it as a sample and one did but it was a size 8 and I’m a 18. Alot of girls say that they would never order it without trying it on first but they were never in your shoes or mine before so they don’t know how it feels. Its all up to you. I would just make sure that you are 100% positive before ordering it. Good luck!
