I would buy it, it’s very pretty. Unless you know it would hurt you financially. Then I would look on Amazon, Etsy etc.
But because it’s so thin, you maybe able to wear it later with other dresses. That’s what I’m planning to do with mine. Cut the back ribbon shorter so I can tie it in a small cute bow and wear it with something else.

See if you have any high end fabric stores in your area, and check out their trim section.  I also fell in love with a very expensive belt, the one I loved was $400!  Which is just crazy!  I found some beautiful bridal trim that my seamstress sewed into my dress, and I ended up loving it even more than the original belt, and it was less than $50!

I personally wouldn’t but that’s because $300 is the absolute max I would be willing to spend on a dress. I’m looking at dresses $200 and under so buying an accessory for $300 would be a no go for me.

It does however go great with the dress, and the dress looks SO great on you so I would try my hardest to find a substitute!

I would shop around first, but if I didn’t find anything similar, yeah I’d buy it. As PP said you could wear it again (with a LBD for eg), and honestly, when you think about it pretty much every wedding expense is crazy. Most brides spend upwards of $1k on their dress, and that’s only going to be worn once.

clairhuxtable :

Purchase a similar less expensive option on a ribbon and when you have your alterations done ask your seamstress to add a hook closure and remove the excess ribbon 😊

First of all, you are beautiful in that dress! I have to admit that the belt is really pretty and suits your dress perfectly, but $300 is a huge amount for a belt. I agree with PPs that finding a similar one on Etsy is probably the way to go.

I wouldn’t. $300 is a lot for a belt. I got my belt that came with the dress for $50 and then I donated the dress – so a bit of a waste… I’m sure you’ll be able to find something cheaper on Etsy or in different shops in your area – even second hand …

I would do it if you can afford it.

You look stunning, wow!  I love the belt, but agree you can probably find something similar for less.  If nothing else, you might ask about buying the sample at a discounted price, rather than buying a new one.  I’d also check some preowned websites to see if any brides are selling a similar one.  I know I sold mine that way!  Just a thought.  Good luck!

Umm…can you sew? I saw this on eBay… Diamante appliques.. DIY your belt..

I can’t afford it so I won’t buy one. My pre-owned wedding dress, veil and hoop was sold to me for less than £200. But if you can, I don’t see why you are worrying about it. It’s definitely a lot of money for a belt..

Belt or no belt, you are going to bring the house down on your wedding day. :). All eyes will be on you for sure. I would exhaust all alternatives before plunking down the bucks for that belt. Maybe you can negotiate a deal with the bridal shop? If you are getting your bridesmaids gowns there, they may give you a break. Just a thought.
