- Wedding: September 2011
For all of you who have dealt with medical issues and can provide true advice and support to the OP and to the OP herself, you all are my heroes. It puts wedding planning to perspective just to read your posts and brought tears to my eyes how courageous you all are.
@Mimi1201: I feel sad that your FI’s family said he was spending too much time and energy on you. I understand their concern and I don’t know what they’ve truly been like, but if I would be so proud to be related or to have raised a man who knows and shows unconditional love…which is what us engaged couples believe we’ve found, yes? My only advice would be to continue to allow him to love you. I’m sure it’s such a hard thing to do when you see what he’s done for you and the sacrifices he’s made, but having a wonderful man at your side will continue to be just as powerful a medicine as the chemo. And because he loves you so much I know he believes every moment is worth it.
You’re in my thoughts and prayers, and along with everyone else, I say go along with the wedding. Love the ‘never postpone joy’ comment.
