Yes!!!!! Depending on the designer the timeline isn’t that off. Call!!!

MrsPhilly:  Go ahead and call! Its not like a quick 5 minute call to check the status of your dress is going to be an annoyance for them, unless you call to check every other day.

MrsPhilly:  yes it’s a quick call. And it will put you at ease. The dress could be sitting at the shop and they forgot to call you! They’ll be happy you called and they can have you come pick it up! 

Every shop has a different delivery policy. They could have had them hold the order until a little closer to your wedding date because usually brides let the dress sit in the shop. The store has to pay for the dress when it’s delivered to them so they lose out on cash flow if the bride doesn’t cone pick it up within a few weeks.

MrsPhilly:  I was in a very similar situation with my dress. I ordered in in June 2012 and they said it would take 6-7 months to come in. When I didn’t hear anything after 7 months, I called, and they said it would be another month. This happened maybe 2 more times before I started calling EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK.

In the end, it took ELEVEN MONTHS for my dress to come in. I was FURIOUS. 

The only good thing was that, like you, my wedding wasn’t until September, so I still had plenty of time for alterations, etc, but I just wanted my damn dress!

Anyway, we think the problem was a strike with the shipping company and then issues with customs.

I got my dress in May 2013, 4 months before my wedding. THANK. GOD.

If I were you, I would seriously call every week until it’s in. Ask if they have a tracking number or something so you can monitor the shipment yourself. Talk to a manager if they’re being uncooperative, and if another month or so goes by, ask for a refund even once your dress is in. Tell them that if you can’t count on this dress being in by X date, you will have to start searching for another (even if this isn’t the case, they need to know that you aren’t going to let up).
