I am trying to figure out whether to do mineral makeup (which I have heard is bad for photos) or airbrush? I’m from a small town so the salons give good deals. For the makeup trial and wedding day together it is only $50 for either way of makeup. I have combination/oily skin though and my face tends to look “shiny”. Any advice would be great 🙂

@AirForceFiance: Hi! I actually had a makeup trial using Aveda mineral makeup and wasn’t really that pleased at how it looked in pictures or lasted so I tried for another makeup artist from somewhere else who did airbrushing. There was no comparison. The whole look lasted longer and it was a smoother finish. If you can afford to do airbrush, I would definitely do it!

I would totally go airbrush, I love the way it feels on your skin and it is perfect for a flawless look.

There has been quite a few bees who have said don’t do the mineral look for makeup, it doesn’t photograph well. I would either DIY or air brush

I had my makeup done at an Aveda salon with mineral makeup for my wedding. It looked great at first, but with 90+ degree weather and a lot of walking outside, it kind of amplified any small wrinkles on my face by the middle of the day but didn’t look totally awful – you can check out some pics I’ve posted here (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/vintage-movie-theater-wedding-pro-recap-2-bride-038-bridal-party) and here (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/vintage-movie-theater-wedding-pro-recap-5-bride-038-groom-wedding-party) to get an idea. I’ve never had airbrush makeup so can’t really compare the two.
