Got engaged August 1 2020 and I am so so happy!!! I did not anticipate the stone looking so big on my hand and it’s a lot bigger than my friends’ rings. They have diamonds and I have a moissy. They know and I’m not trying to pass it off to everyone as a diamond. Went for a 7mm 1.25 carat equivalent and the next size down is 6.5 for a 1 carat equivalent. It looks like 1.5 carats in my hand. I might just need to give it more time to get used to it since I don’t wear a ton of jewelry. But wanted thoughts if it looked too blingy? I know it’s all personal preference and I have problems with comparing everything (yay anxiety) but just wanted some opinions. Thanks 🙂

congratulations on your engagement! I think it looks fine for someone with your size fingers. Must be small for it to look so big? Whats your ring size?

if you’re uncomfortable then yes but I don’t think it looks bad at all! I think it looks great and I wouldn’t worry about your friends rings. You are going to meet people with rings bigger and smaller than yours for the rest of your life. All that matters is what the ring represents!

Looks great to me!
If you downsize, that may throw off the proportions of band to stone

Congratulations on your engagement!! Beautiful ring! Looks perfect!!

It’s gorgeous! I don’t see the need to downsize

It looks perfect to me. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Absolutely not too blingy, don’t change a thing! Looks perfectly proportional to your hand, and looks smaller than 1.5 imo. In a year you won’t even notice it, it’ll seem that small and integrated with your hand!
I speak from experience, having also started with a 1.25ct solitaire which felt huge on my size 5 finger. It went from seeming massive to being a tad too small… and I upgraded to a 1.79 a few years later!
Your gemstone looks gorgeous where did you get it? And could we see a profile shot of your ring?

I think it’s a really nice size on your hand. I remember thinking my engagement ring looked huge when I first got it but now I think I could have gone bigger. Lol. I think what you’re feeling is pretty common and will go away with time

It looks fantastic on you.

I think it looks great on your hand. Apart from what your friends have, do you like it? If so, I’d say focus on calming your mind rather than changing your ring.

Size 5. Maybe 4.75 but it would be a tight fit over my knuckle. Thanks!

Thanks! The ring is from The True Gem! I don’t have a side profile pic right now but they have a lot of videos on their instagram, the setting is called the Jennie Solitaire.
