colld88:  Wedding Paper Divas also does letterpress invites, and they often offer sales on gilt.com (I got one a couple of months ago for $150 for $300 credit). Perhaps you can hold out for a bit to see if they offer it again soon, if your wedding is not until 2016. They’ve already offered this dealI think twice or three times in the 6 months I’ve been engaged lol.

colld88:  I think you can definitely have a formal invite without it being letterpress, even though letterpress is great.

You have to really put things into perspective when it comes to paper goods IMO… almost no one will keep them! The most important thing is, what is your budget?

We seriously considered letterpress invites for our formal wedding, but for 100 invites, rsvp cards and reception cards it was $1400 :(. I just couldnt justify that in our budget when most people would be throwing them away.

We ended up going with some formal printed invites from etsy that were really unique, but also very formal. I think they cost $900 and were custom designed for us.

I’m not sure if you decided on your invitations yet, but letterpress definitely wasn’t in our budget (at least the ones we wanted.. $1500!), so I’m making ours! I’m in the process of doing it now. I used a tutorial I found on Pinterest that was extremely helpful.

I haven’t finished the actual invitation yet, but here is our RSVP card!
