I recently got engaged on March 16, and I am so in love with my ring. So much so that I think it might need to be resized, but I don’t want to part with it for 3-4 weeks. Somedays, the ring looks snug, some days it doesn’t, and whenever I mentionedit to others that my finger looks chunky, no one agrees with me. I don’t sleep in the ring because when I did, it was really hard to take it off. In the afternoon and evening, my ring feels loose. When my hands are at my sides, the ring slides up, but not past my knuckles. Sometimes the weight causes it to lean to one side of my finger. The ring is a size 6, but I’m wondering if I should resize it to 6.25. My fiance and I are picking our bands this week, so I think I may also get an opinion from the jeweler. What do you all think? Sorry, I have 5 pictures below.
The first night I got the ring. It looks too tight. It was also -16F that night so I’m sure if that’s a factor.
The day after I received the ring. The ring doesn’t look tight here.
Two days after I received the ring. It looks tight here again.
Here’s the ring looking fine.
And looking chunky again.
Due to the flunctuations of my finger, I’m afraid to get it sized up. I don’t want it to slip off. Has anyone gone up .25 or .50 on their ring? How was the new fit?

The ring will feel tighter if your body is holding onto water or you eat super salty food at a meal. Or could be weather/temp as well. I wanted to get my ring a little bigger as well, BUT, a couple of factors stopped me. A) I’m REALLY not into the whole ring swinging look. I want my ring to be something that is comfortable and looks good. If it’s loose enough to constantly swing down to my pinky consistently, that’s too loose. B) I don’t want my ring falling off after I wash my hands. I find it feels looser after I wash and I decided it wasn’t worth it. However, thinking ahead, I will likely get it 0.15 bigger, since it will feel tighter once I have my wedding band as well!

My ring was originally a 6.75. It was so loose on my finger that I was scared to wear it out in public because it felt like it would fall off. I had it sized down to a 6.5 and it’s absolutely perfect! Sometimes in the morning it’s a little tight but after an hour at the max it’s perfect again! 0.25-0.5 size can make a massive difference. it’s all about what you’re comfortable with!

It does look too tight. I’d size up .25 and I bet that will help a lot. If it feels loose sometimes I wouldn’t size up half size because I think that might be too much. It’s amazing what just a quarter size difference will make. What’s your band size? The wedding band doesn’t look too tight like the e ring does.

that’s actually not my band. It’s a pandora ring that I bought for my right hand that I was just playing around with to see how it looked with my e-ring. ☺️

I’d call around to see where you can get it resized. You might be surprised. I got my ring Dec 24, but only lasted until Dec 27 because it was really loose and those plastic noodle things dug into my hand.
I love my ring too and was dreading being without it. I ended up calling around and finding a place that sized it for $40 and it only took a few hours. I dropped it off at lunch and picked it up on my way home from work.

don’t do it. I’m taking “snug” to mean not uncomfortably tight, just maybe difficult to move. Unless it’ causing significant discomfort on the snug days don’t, because you’ll be trading snug days for loose and floppy days and that’s way more annoying.

Your ring looks exactly the same to me in all of those pictures…beautiful. I drank a few glasses of wine the other day and my ring felt super snug but it feels loose now. I’ve started drinking crazy amounts of water which seems to help the fluid retention. I got engaged the day after you so I’m giving it a few weeks before I decide.

it doesn’t hurt at all. And even on snug days, it’s still easy to move, and fairly easy to take off. My finger is the same from my fingertip to almost the base of my finger so the rings slides in easily. There is an indent at the end of the day, though.

I honestly want to wait until I start wearing my wedding band and see how they both fit together and then decide. I guess I don’t want to have a bare left ring finger now lol.

I have size 5 finger and i have my rings sized to a 6

I typically wear a size 5, but sized up to a 5.5 because I swell like crazy (I eat a lot of salty food too 😥) and our spring/summer/part of fall is 95+ heat. On colder days, or loose days, it’s still snug- but I’m able to spin it around and moved it (it doesn’t spin by itself tho). Personally, the worse thing is having a ring that’s too loose, I just couldn’t stand the constant moving lol.

My jeweler told me that if you hold on to the ring and try to twist it back and forth AND the skin moves with the ring, then it’s too tight.
In other words, the ring should move but your finger shouldn’t!
I went up 1/2 size and so glad that I did!

I’m getting it resized now up .5 so let’s see how it fits. I’m sad that I have to be apart from it for 10 more days. 😭

My rings were 3.75 but I needed them sized up to 4 before and after I had a baby as they were just a tad too tight for me. My jeweler works for himself and is amazing – he got them back to me within a day. His turnaround is always quick unless he has to do a lot of custom work. You should see if you can find an independent jeweler that can size it in-house within a few days – it normally does not take long, but it also depends on how complicated it is. Mine is a solitaire so no little diamonds involved.
