So, I tried on this lovely Mia Solano dress. It was on special with a $600 discount, but the sale ended that day!! I ended up putting a deposit on it to secure the sale price, but (as always seems the case) I’m not sure now!! I hadn’t really looked at other shops, it is ok to buy basically the first dress you try? Do you guys like it? There were a couple of others in the shop which looked at least as good, but I have really sensitive skin and the lace and beading on the other ones itched against my arms/chest, whereas this one is really soft.
From the front: the underskirt is pulling a bit, the dress is actually 2 sizes too big so the girl had to pull the corset as tight as it went and she said it was making the skirt sit funny. So hopefully in the right size it wouldn’t wrinkle…
The only pic I have of the back is blurry – turns out my Bridesmaid or Best Man kinda sucks at taking photos haha! It’s all clipped up anyway so you can’t see the ribbon corset, but you get the idea:

With your bodytype, you’d look good in pretty much everything. BUT, this dress really suits you. When I scrolled down tot he pic, I thought, “yep, that’s the one”. What makes you have doubts? Don’t worry about it being the first dress you tried on, or the fact that you didn’t try on many. I tried on over 75 gowns and realized I was just being overly picky and anxious about the dress, so had I stuck with the one I liked (which was #3) I would have been super happy and have avoided a lot of unnecessary stress! I think it looks fantastic on you – like it was made for you. Enjoy your dress! 🙂

It looks like it fits you, not physically, but *you* very well. I tried on several dresses, thinking I wouldn’t be able to choose. My best advice is that they all will be pretty, some will look better than others but you have to be comfortable. If you find a dress that you don’t want anyone else trying on after you do, I’d say commit.

You look simply amazing in that dress.

Oh wow guys, thank you so much! I think my doubts are stemming from the following:
1. I see the skirt pulling thing a lot more in the photo than I did in real life, however it’s not the right size so I suppose I can’t really judge it on that.
2. I went in thinking I didn’t want a strapless dress, but maybe I do? I don’t often wear strapless things so to me it looks like a lot of bare chest going on.
3. I was just sort of unprepared to find ‘the’ dress so quick, this was a bit of a spontaneous trip and only one Bridesmaid or Best Man could come, and I had organised for a ‘proper’ shopping day with both of them this Tuesday. I realise this isn’t actually a reason to not like the dress haha. Maybe I will still go on Tuesday just to confirm I want this one 🙂

If you are not comfortable with strapless, the bridal shop can easily order the same material from the top of your skirt and make some pretty straps/shoulder capped straps. You could even ask them to make it detachable in case you want to switch it up between the ceremony and reception.
Oh and the dress looks gorgeous on you! Suits you to a T!

Yes you NEED that dress!! Super romantic and feminine, I think it’s to die for on you!!
It does need to be altered but that’s an easy fix. The strapless top looks lovely and you may be showing some bare chest but no boob so it still looks classy and modest. My advice is, if you really like this dress, do NOT keep looking!!! You’ll just keep second guessing yourself. Also…for that price, it is a steal.

Stunning, bee! I too am reeling from my dress shopping experience – I loved SO many dresses, but I kind of felt like I should be shopping around more, which I can’t afford to do (here you have to pay a consultation fee). I felt like going to one store and bugig a dress seemed rushed. But heck, if you love the dress, why not?! I have realised that trying more dresses at more stores is only going to confuse the issue.
I wasn’t sure I wanted strapless either, but I loved the strapless ballgown. I also didn’t think I would ever love a form fitting dress but I totally did! It is okay to change your mind when you see something on. You can always add a sleeve or removable sleeve.
Anyway, I think this dress is SO gorgeous on you, and if it is comfortable then it is ticking all the boxes!

You look great. I bought a Mia solano gown in sydney and also put down a deposit during an any gown for $1000 deal. I was told if I changed my mind the money could go on any dress in the shop. It took me 3 months till I actually ordered it and I went in 4 times during the 3 months to try it on (plus every other gown in the shop). I ended up ordering the original one but it was good to know I had the option of going with another if I needed to. I’m sure your store has the same policy. You look amazing though and should stick with that one 🙂

Yep same policy! So I could potentially get another gown in the shop although I think I tried on all the other soft & flowy type ones (which is what I want, I think!). Was it from Luv Bridal? How fast did yours come in? I’ve kinda just realised that I actually need my dress a few months before the wedding (due to akward timing of getting married and moving state :/ ) so I don’t have as much time as I thought…
I’ll definitely ask for some material for straps!

I love it! I think it’s normal to doubt a little bit because there are so many options. I got my dress at the 3rd shop, and it still bothered me for some silly reason because I like to look at all options before making a big decision. Keep it….I love it!! I also have sensitive skin and had a hard time finding a dress that was soft. I loved the dresses on the hangers, but they were so itchy and rough on my skin. I’m glad I went for comfort because my SIL has a scar from where her strap dug into her shoulder!

Yes, I like to be able to see all the options and weigh up the pros and cons! But it would be a bit crazy to visit EVERY bridal shop in town…
Oh wow she has a scar! That must have been bad. There was actually another dress which had the ‘wow’ factor visually but it itched around the top so I had to be sensible and tell myself it would drive me nuts. Also my skin turns red at the slightest irritation so I didn’t want that.

you look gorgeous in it! Don’t have doubts!
