As part of my MOH’s gift, I want to give her a crystal champagne flute from Tiffany’s wrapped up with a nice bottle of champagne. This is the flute: http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?fromGrid=1&sku=11123821&mcat=&cid=288227&search_params=p+1-n+10000-c+288227-s+5-r+-t+-ni+1-x+-lr+-hr+-ri+-mi+-pp+1096+2&search=0&origin=browse&searchkeyword=
Do you think it would be nice to have it engraved with a sweet message (along the lines of “XXXX, thank you for being my maid of honor and best friend”) or should I leave it alone since it’s such a nice piece on its own? What would you prefer if you got this as a gift?
As a side question, if I do opt to have it engraved, where would have it done? Things Remembered, maybe?

Personally I would leave it alone. Engraving it might limit her use out of it and it’s not as timeless as leaving it blank. If you’re really set on engraving it, can it be engraved on the bottom, underneath? I think that would be cute so you could still get her name or the date or whatever you choose, but it’s not quite so in your face.

Instead of engraving, I would get her a set of 2 flutes. I think it’s weird to give one, but maybe that’s just me.

I wouldn’t. Perhaps you could get a wine glass marker (one of those things that you hang on your glass to identify which one is yours) engraved and clip it on the glass?

I loathe engraved items, leave it as is!! Also, it seems a bit odd to be to only buy someone one glass. It would make more sense to give her two so she can use it with bf/gf/spouse/guest in the future.

MissLibra: amandajane4949: Oh that makes so much sense, I like the idea of getting two instead of one… should’ve thought of that, haha
Thanks for the ideas, Bees! 🙂
