I’m with the people who think this dress looks sort of tar/urine/something else-stained in yellow.  I want to like it, but all I can see when I look at it is what it looks like when I use a paper towel to clean up pee spots in my rats’ cage.  Perhaps the dress looks a bit more sunny and a bit less urine-soaked in real life, but that’s just how the yellow looks to me from here.

I can see wanting to avoid the Gwen connotations with the pink, but I really think you should try on the blue and pink and see which looks better with your skin color and which you prefer overall.  I personally would go with the blue, because blue is obviously a very bridal color (what a cool ‘something blue’ it is to have your dress dipped in blue dye!), and I think it would be a very pretty accent to the dress without all the celebrity reminders.  Unless you are a ‘pink’ sort of person in your daily life (I’m reminded of the one bride on an episode of SYTTD who came into Kleinfeld’s saying she loved pink, and all her friends and family knew of her love of it, so she definitely wanted pink in her dress), I think the Gwen Stefani connotation might be too strong since hers was such a unique and famous dress.

    Just my thoughts.

Hmmm…well I think if you’re looking for a timeless look you might not want to go with this particular dress. 😉 But pastel blue and pastel pink seem, to me, equally timeless colors on their own, so it’s really up to personal preference. So did they send you a swatch of the ombré fabric so you can see just what the colors are like? Man, I would be a bit hesitant to buy this unique of a dress without trying it on first. It can be hard to tell the overall effect of that much color on the dress when you just get to see a swatch beforehand. The pink and blue both sound very pretty in theory, but the saturation or amount of color on the dress might be overwhelming once you see it in person. I’m not saying this is going to happen, just that it’s possible and there’s really no way tell tell how you’ll feel until you can try it on. Were you at least able to try on the yellow-dipped one?

Here’s one way to help decide between colors if you’re very set on this dress…have you decided on wedding colors yet?

OH sorry!  i totally skipped your answer to the colour of your wedding.  My bad.  I would go with Blue.  Like Vegan Glam said – how cool to have blue in your dress as your something blue!

I would say if you’re going for “timeless”, this dress doesn’t really fit that… otherwise I would go with blue.

If wedding colors are red and gold,I’d go with the pink.

If your colors are red and gold, I think I would go with the yellow/champaigne. I don’t see the “stained” look that everyone else apparently sees, though, I think it’s gorgeous.

I’d go with blue, just to have it as my something blue, but that wouldn’t necessarily work with your red/gold… :-/

I’d definitely go with the blue – I agree with veganglam that it would be such a neat something blue.

Pink would seem very out of place with red and gold as your wedding colors (I just had my red and gold wedding and I can say confidently that pink would look off).  Plus, I’d want to avoid possibly looking like a Gwen Stefani copy-cat.

I really can’t get past the fact that the yellow looks like a urine stain or old and aged or something.  I just think the yellow looks really bad.  Every time you post this dress I try to look past it and have an open mind on the color but I keep going back to the thought of stains.  The yellow just isn’t a good look in my book.  (Also, yellow and gold don’t really go well together either.)
