Yes cuz you need to try things on in order to know you like it !! That way you can be clear about  what you like and don’t like

I ring shopped with my now Mother-In-Law and SIL and picked out a few settings. I had an obvious favorite, and my Mother-In-Law pointed my now Darling Husband to it <3

Go to various places and pic out the top three and then give him that info and let him choose and you will still be surprised

I would only do it if he asked you to.

Go try on a few. You’ll probably be surprised by what you do and don’t like. My SO and I are in the process of looking at them together right now, actually. I’m going to choose 3-5 settings that I love and he gets to pick which one it is.

@karenlinebarger:  i would find the stone shape you love and give him that hint.

my Fi went all by himself and picked out the ring i had no clue he was going to popose.

and thank god i love it. but i think anygirl would love what she gets its the meaning that counts.

if you force it upon him it wont have as much meaning to you. it will feel like just another ring.

i feel you should let him do his thing.

Sure, go look, narrow it down to 3-5 (so you’ll be happy with what you have) and then let him make the final decision (so he’ll feel included).

@HisNightOwl2014:  I think any girl would love the meaning … but jewelry is something that is very personal to someone, and taste in jewelry differs greatly. I think it’s important to get your girl something she likes, physically and emotionally.

Yes, I would absolutely ring shop ahead of time. I say this because the rings we fell in love with are nothing like what I thought I wanted! If he doesn’t mind you being super involved, I see no problems in actually being there and picking out the exact stone/setting/etc. Then you still get his opinion (because, hey, he IS paying for it) but then you know you are 100% happy with it as well. I never did the narrow down to 3-5 thing as we were equally stoked about two vastly different rings.

I say yes! I tried on a few before we went together, which was great because I changed the type of setting I thought I wanted. Then, when we went shopping, I was prepared with what to show him and didn’t have to go through the hemming and hawing. SO was pretty nervous while shopping, so I think the pre-shopping was helpful.

I’m not engaged yet, though, so we’ll see what I end up with!

@strawbs:  i agree with you there. i still look at engagement rings from time to time and there are alot out there that i love too. But he went all by himself and got my ring. i dident push it or hint around that i wanted an engagement ring and get married he did it all on his own.

but theres no ring i dont care how big it is that i love more then mine HE picked it and i love it just for that plus i really love my ring ; )i love a gift from the heart. give your men some credit they know us better then we think lol
