    I would have it hemmed.

I would keep it; it’s small, and I don’t think the dress would look right without it.

Re it getting dirty: I have a decent-sized train and imagine it will get filthy, but I really don’t mind; it’ll be underneath so it won’t show, and it’s not like I’ll be wearing it again!

I would keep it.  Its pretty small and I feel like a train makes any dress a more bridal looking which I like.  My SIL had a longer train and it was a lace overlay for her beach wedding and it was fine!

Keep it, if you change your mind later you can’t get it back, but it you think that you really don’t want a train on the day of your wedding, you could go ahead and bustle it before the ceremony and then it’s all good. I didn’t have a very long train on my dress, and I was supposed to have a garden ceremony, though it didn’t happen due to weather, and I left it on, I got it bustled underneath so that the bustled dress looked basically like it would have if it were hemmed. I can see if I have a pic if you are interested. good luck!

I don’t your dress would look the same without it.  Keep it! If you still aren’t sure, see what kind of underbustle can be done.

@kellyj23: Sure! I understand, I was there myself when doing all this too, especially since my mom was unable to be there with me, as well as all my bridesmaids who were out of state. Hope this helps you out! So here is a pic of my dress unbustled, just to give you an idea of the train:

and it bustled: (sorry it isn’t the best pic, or a full back shot, but hopefully it will give you an idea of what it looked like)

    Hope this helps!

@kellyj23: Good, I’m glad it helps! That’s what I loved about the underbustle myself, and like I said before, it then gives you options so that you aren’t locked into only one choice with your train.

Thanks, I made it myself, I loved how it turned out.

Good luck with all the wedding planning! I can’t wait to see what else you plan on doing.

I agree with everyone else.  I recommend keeping the train.

I would keep it!  I’m also doing a beach/grass wedding and mine has quite a decent sized train.  You could always get a little bustle put on but it doesn’t even look like you need it.

I saw an episode of “Four Weddings” and a girl with a beach wedding had a  small train and it was goergous. I say keep it! when else in your life are you aloud to wear a trian? never. lol
