Maybe you could ask her to make your veil for you?

I think it’s a nice thought, but unless she has made some comments about having wanted to make it, I would leave it alone. You could ask her to make you something else if it would make you both feel better (her more helpful and involved; you more connected to her).

It sounds like having her make your dress would have been sentimental, but also possibly stressful (for both of you). If my daughter asked me to make her dress I’d be so nervous that it wouldn’t be perfect for her, especially if she lived far away and couldn’t drop by whenever we needed to do fittings.

Don’t second guess yourself now or look for excuses to be stressed out. You love your dress, leave it at that and ask Mom for her input on other stuff. I agree with the idea of asking her to make your veil!
