You’re getting married on my birthday! 🙂

No, I don’t think you’ve waited too long but you should definitely start looking soon. Some dresses have to be ordered and can take a up to a year to come in.

Your not too late, but I would start now.  Most companies I have read take 6-8 months, some as little as 3.  I can’t wait to see what you chose.

@peachbaby4008:  You’re OK, you’ve got time on your side still.

You are ok, you have time on a dress. Most pleaces says 6 months max, giving time for alteration and stuff.

Nope, you’re not too late! I started looking and bought mine six months out (it was all one weekend). It only took two months for it to come in, even though I was told 4 months.

Last month, I was told my dress would be in in April. It was there the next week. The timing depends on a lot of factors, but you have plenty of time.

You still have some time, but definitely start looking now especially if you don’t have a particular designer or style in mind. Wedding dresses runs the gamut in terms of different types. To give you a rough idea of a timeline, I ordered my dress this past October and I won’t be receiving it until the end of this upcoming April. Of course, as mentioned above, every company/designer is different. Plus if you start looking now, you can maximize the ability to see as much dresses in your price range as possible. Settling on a dress is never ideal.

I start looking the end of this month. I was told if you tell the place you are getting married 2 months earlier than your actual date that it should help with rushing the order…

I just bought my dress (or rather ordered it) and I have six months to go before the big day. My bridal consultant actually gave me a bit of a lecutre about waiting so long to order it.

I haven’t started dress shopping either! If it makes you feel better, I live overseas and won’t be able to start trying on dresses until July when I get back to the US. That leaves only 3 months!

I got married on 10/22/2011. I found my dress and gave my deposit in on Feb 5th. It can usually take up to 5 months to order the gown in. My gown was due to come in at the end of July, but luckily came in mid June. You have some time, but I wouldn’t wait too long. You want to make sure you have enough time left to do alterations.
