I think you should make sure to do at least most photos before the reception. A lot can happen at the reception. What if someone spills wine on you, or you hair gets messed up, or you have food in your teeth, or your dress rips, or who even knows? You can always take more later.

Thank you all so much for the helpful suggestions! We’ve decided to stick to the brunch idea. We’ll take the photos from 7am (morning Golden Hour). This way we’ll have good natural lighting without change the timeline. The only difference is I’ll have to get up super early for hair and makeup, and I’m not really morning person, lol.
