Hi! I bought my dress before I ever discovered the bee boards, so I wasn’t as knowledable about the process. I am happy with my dress purchase, but I’m beginning to think I should have gotten a better deal on my dress because it seems like it is 6 years old from what I can find online….
It’s a Judd Waddell. I have no idea what the model number is and it isn’t listed on my receipt. I have LOOKED and LOOKED and LOOKED all over the internet for this dress, and the only picture I could find was from a magazine shoot it was in in 2006. So if anyone has any other information about this dress, please let me know. I bought the sample- listed at $3,500 for $1,300. It will need to be shortened. I wasn’t crazy about how wide the sash is, so the sales cosultant told me that when they shortened it, they could shorten it at the sash part, making it half as wide. I’m a on a tight budget, and this dress with alterations totally broke what I had in mind, but I thought I was getting such a good deal at the store that I thought it was worth it. Ah, the joys of ‘percieved’ savings.
So, since this dress is from 2006, should I have gotten a better deal from the shop?
I know what’s done is done, but I’m interested to see what other’s thoughts are….and if anyone has any information about this mysterious dress or pictures of people wearing it.

I guess what you are thinking that you should have gotten a better deal since it’s six seasons old, but you also should consider that it would probably be difficult to find a lace dress of the same quality from a more recent season in that price range. And that design could certainly pass for this season anyway. So, I think that it sounds like a reasonable price you probably could have saved a little more or gotten a veil thrown in.

Dresses don’t go down in price based on what season they are from, they are always the same – a 3500 dress from the 2006 collection ordered new will be 3500. Do you know if this dress could be ordered new today, or if it’s been discontinued? Just curious. I don’t think this sample is six years old, it looks great. I think the deal you got is great.

Thanks! I’m glad I am spending my hard earned money in a good way! No, you can’t order this dress today. And I can’t find it anywhere… it sesms like after the shoot in 2006 it fell off the face of the earth. With so much demand for “this season” dresses and how quickly they get discontinues, I was paranoid that I should have driven a harder bargain. Good thing I was wrong because I’m not very good at that anyways 🙂

It’s a beautiful dress and I think it’ll be worth every penny!
