I would like to see morediamond center stone. Thinking I can have the prongs extended 2 or 3millimeters so I can see the bottom point of the diamond. I feel the diamond itself has a low profile.

i think any higher and it may be too high?
Also, it seems the top of the diamond should usually line up with the halo around it. If you raise it , they would be at different levels.
totally up to you though. lovely set.
And I think it’s beautiful as-is and the center stone still has plenty of prominence 🙂
@LovesBeingAMrs: I see what you’re saying, just not sure it can be done without compromising the structural integrity of the halo. Can you ask a professional jeweler for their opinion?
But at the end of the day totally up to you. Perhaps you could find a set with the hight it would take yours to, and do a bit of a test run.
I don’t want a different setting bees. If only I had a better pic, the prongs are independt of the halo. As in, not bound together, the halo merely is an outter “barrel” around the prongs. Ill be in touch with a professional Monday. Just wanted general votes on seeing more of the stone. I’m fine with height.
I think it would be weird if it sat any higher. Solitaires that show the bottom usually have like, a see-through side, if that makes any sense.
I think the setting is pretty high as it is and I think you may actually regret changing it.
i hate tall rings for me personally because i scratch my child with my rings all the darn time… makes me feel horrible 🙁 so i would be trying to set the diamond lower into the halo lol. but i too think it is personal preference. if you like it tall, and it wont make your prongs weaker in anyway i say follow your heart.
Would you want it to look like this? (just the diamond and prongs obv :P)
Eeeek, personally, I think it would would funny if you made the diamond sit up any higher. Right now, it looks fluid…….BUT that is my opinion. You have do what you like best. After years of jewelry mishaps, though, I’ve learned to accept something as good when it really is, in fact, good. When you start to mess with things to try and perfect, problems often arise, and they can’t always be put back to normal. Just something to consider!
