So a lot of you have seen the dress that I am in love and thought I had made a finaly decision for my bridesmaids … and they are all in love with it from what they have seen on the internet. My sister and another bridesmaid did try it on in a short version of the same dress. But none of the stores (in multoiple states across the country) carry the long dress as it’s a new dress and for some reason it hasn’t been sent to many of the boutiques. It is the right price, the right color and just feels like "it".
I really love the dress from the internet, but I feel a little weird that no one has seen it in person!! Do you guys things we should just go for it?!

Is there anywhere near you that you can eyeball it in person? Maybe I’m overly cautious, but I’d hate to get something that I wasn’t it expecting.
I mean it’s gorgeous, and hopefully everyone will love it… but you never know. If there is the ability to get your hands on it, I’d do that first (unless you can order online and return).

I had to choose the Maybe So Option. The dress is GORGEOUS but Not seeing it in person can be risky if there isn’t a good return and/or exchange policy. The last thing you want is to be stuck with a dress. If they have an exchage policy and if for some reason that dress doesn’t work out you can use the credit for another dress you all can love 🙂

We’re buying a dress that only has short samples, but in full length (gotta love January, right, twin?), too! Have you tried having them try on a full length gown with a similar waist/skirt but a different top? That should give them a good idea of how the skirt will look, and the top should be the same whether the dress is short or long.
Good luck! I’d go for it!!

So, I think it’s a really gorgeous dress, and if you were going for the short version i’d say BUY IT! However, I’m looking at the picture on the website and I have a hard time imagining it long. The top and neckline are really adorable, but they seem kind of casual for a long dress, so I can’t really visualize how it will look.
I’d have a hard time with purchasing anything I haven’t seen in person, because things never look exactly the way they do in online photos. Could you maybe contact the designer and find out if there are any boutiques in your area that DO have the dress? Also, since your wedding isn’t until January, you really have plenty of time, unless your bridesmaids have reasons for wanting you to choose this early.
That’s of course just my opinion, and I’m incredibly neurotic. Ultimately, if you can see it in your mind and you feel like this is the one, go ahead and pick it!

Thanks for the answers ladies. The votes say to do it, the comments make me feel like I shouldnt .. ugh!
The reason I wanted to do it now, which is fairly early, is that all the bridesmaids are all around the country and i would love to have the dress for them when we all get together for the bachelorette (in early October) so that they have plenty of time to alter it if they need it.
Myself, my mom, and all my bridesmaids have contacted every single boutique that carrys this designer in the following states: Mass, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York (including NYC), New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Oregon, and California … NO one has the silly dress.
Ugh. I think I’ll take a vote among the bridesmaids and see what they think.
Thanks! 🙂

Could you order 1 and see? Maybe too annoying, but that’s my cautious thought. I love it though!

If you saw the color, the fabric and how it fit through the bust and waist- I say go for it. It’s not like it’s totally sight unseen.

I think if you’ve seen it in a short version & you like the long version online, then definitely go with it. I think the main concerns would be how it fits in the chest and stomach area, along with what it looks like on. I think it is hard to picture those specifics of a dress, but easy to picture the material continuing down to the floor.
I think it is a gorgeous dress. I waited to get my bridesmaids dresses (bc I couldn’t find the one) and I felt like I rushed my girls into getting it. They were awesome and all ordered quickly, but as a bridesmaid, I think its always nice to have time to get your dress. And if you give them their dresses at the bach party & they don’t have to pay for shipping, that is an extra bonus!
I say go for it!
