Here I go…
I am having massive dress regret with my original dress. I am still waiting for it to come in, but while waiting, I ordered a dress from David’s Bridal for $400 during a sale that was more along the lines of what I was looking for before I settled on my original dress.
Now, I’m contemplating returning my DB dress and trying to fall in love with my original dress again whenever it comes in. My original dress was picked by one of my bridesmaids, so it’s extra hard to replace the dress and it cost me $1,200, which I don’t think I’d be able to recoup more than $800 of.
I was able to try it on and take pics of me with my laptop… in the second picture, I am standing on the train, because I had to walk backwards to take the pic quickly enough. Also, it’s about one size too big on me and I’m holding it tighter to my body in the back, so it looks a little weird… and it’s wrinkled as all hell.
David’s Bridal Oleg Cassini Dress (my tan lines will be gone by March!):
And here’s my original dress (Kathy Ireland for Mon Cheri):
I’d wear a hoop slip under either one, because I’m going for ballgown. Should I just return the DB dress and seek it out again if I need it (even used)?

They’re not that different, but I like your original dress better. I’m not a big fan of shiny dresses. What about the DB dress makes it more you? Could you change something about your original dress to make it more you?
I would likely keep the second dress if you are really that unsure. You could always wear one for the ceremony and one for the recption and sell one of both after the wedding.

I like your original better. I think the difference in quality/price definitely shows, and it looks more flattering on you than the DB dress.

Def like your original better!!

I think the first dress is beautiful! Its much more flattering and looks amazing on you! I do agree with the PP tho.. what about the 2nd dress makes it more you? I wouldnt return the DB dress until your sure but I would at least wait until your dress comes in and then compare.. Who knows you might fall in love all over again!!!

@csteen85: I love the original

They are both pretty but I vote for your original dress. It looks so lovely on you!

I like the DB Oleg Cassini better. Not digging the detail on the top of your original dress.

I definitely vote for the original. :] HOWEVER. When I originally second-guessed my DB dress choice, I looked up and called about their return policies. If you have the DB dress, they won’t take it back. If you make a huge stink over it, they MIGHT give store credit. Fact is–their policies are pretty unmatched by other bridal stores. If you ask me, they’re slimy and sleazy. But. I needed a nice, cheaper dress than other places I could afford. So good luck! Let me know if they allow anything!

The original dress is gorgeous!

The original dress is so beautiful and unique. I really dont’ like how the belt on the DB one cuts you in the middle. It does nothing for your body, while the original hugs it perfectly!

@RBailey: Hmm… I’m surprised by this. I read their return policy online.
I ordered the dress online and as long as you request a RMA number online within 14 days of receiving the dress and send it back before the RMA number expires, you can get a refund. You can’t bring the dress you ordered online back to the store for a return, though.
And the dress can’t have any damage, lint, hair, dirt, etc and must have all tags and pamphlets received with the dress.
