So, I’m going to try to make a long story short. Last April, my grandmother was looking to adopt a dog. (I swear this relates to photography!) I found this adorable 8 month old dachshund that needed to be re-homed because the owner was not home enough for him. Fiance and I drove 45 minutes away to see him, fell in love with, and the dog became part of our family.
Fast forward to the dogs first birthday. The original owner is a very sweet women who had asked if she could stay in touch. Lets call her B. She wanted to stop by on the dog’s first birthday to drop off some toys for him. She came with her boyfriend who we will call R. B asked me how my wedding planning was going and I told her that we were actually going to look at wedding dresses this day. Since B and R were so dressed up, I asked what plans they had for the day. R said he was a wedding photographer and they were going to shoot a friend’s wedding. R gave me his card, which I actually ended up loosing.
So now fast forward to a few months later at a bridal showcase. My Maid/Matron of Honor had a great experience with a company that bundles photography, dj, and videography together. Fiance and I went to check it out and meet the people and see if we wanted to use this service. When I walked in, I was surprised to see both B and R there! It turns out R also is a photographer for this company. I liked his pictures and gave me some pointers about the videographers and DJ. I didn’t feel 100% comfortable booking R privately on his own originally, but I felt much better booking him through this company since there would be a contract and they could provide a back up photographer just in case something unforeseen happens. We had a great time hanging out with B and R at the showcase. R offered to do our engagement pictures… which he did a beautiful job on!
Now here is the slightly awkward part. I emailed B some cute photos of the dog playing in the snow. We exchanged how are yous, and I found out that B and R actually broke up. Do you think I have anything to worry about in terms of R still being my wedding photographer? I know I might be over thinking this one but I would love some opinions.
