You can be happy about something and looking forward to it without feeling excited.  To me, excitement is almost a physical sensation, like feeling the adrenaline rush through you in anticipation.  I wouldn’t want to be in a constant state of excitement, because that would be exhausting!  🙂  Maybe he wasn’t feeling particularly excited at that moment, but he’s still happy to be marrying you.

@MrsBeck:  He’s sort of right about nothing changing… hopefully, anyway. If you’ve got a good relationship now, that’s not a bad thing. Legal marriage is a piece of paper that comes with some legal benefits, so I can see his point. I don’t think you should move out. Figure out if he’s legit NOT HAPPY about marrying you or just not feeling excited about the RSVPs. RSVPs don’t particularly excite me, either, and I think men don’t get AS excited about stuff like weddings until it’s actually happening.
