First off, I am completely in love with my ering. However since receiving it I have not worn my yellow gold jewelry since I feel my wg ering really clashes. 80% of the time I’m in white metals but I am the type that would like to switch it up time to time. For a tall girl I have stubby fingers so I feel that stacking isn’t an option. So tell me what you think? The ring I’m leaning towards is under $400 bucks so it would not break the bank.

Oh and I have no problem with others mixing and matching metals but I am not a fan of it. Nor am I a lover of two-tone.

I love the idea! I actually had my wedding bands set with cognac diamonds so they would play well with my yellow gold; since it was custom made and affording 2 wasn’t possible.
If the money isn’t an issue, I’d say go for it!

Nope, I wouldnt. To me, my ering is my ONLY ering and I cant imagine switching it up for. And even though 400 is not a *lot* on a ring, I’m super frugal, I wouldnt spend it on another ering just for fun.

it’s up to you. if you feel like you want to get a new one and your fi doesn’t mind then go for it.
my mil has been married for 40 years and jokes that she’s had 9 rings but only 1 husband. she likes to change things up.

If you have the extra money and you feel like you will wear it enough I say go for it! Do whats going to make you happy 😉 Honestly it might be nice to have something to wear places you wouldnt want to wear your rock!

I couldn’t get a second either. Mine is too sentimental to me!

i say yes, if Fiance doesnt care and you can afford it. Go for it!

As long as I wear a ring, Fiance does not care. At home I wear a plain sterling sliver band plated in rhodium so I don’t have to worry about taking it off for cleaning. My main ring means a lot but since Fiance and I picked it out together, it really is not a big deal if I have a second. My mom ended up with an upgrade set after ten years so that is probably why I don’t think it is such a big deal.

@NovaRising: I’m so SO glad that someone else is planning to do this. My DH is planning to get me a gold-set diamond ring at some point in the future.

I have a couple of different wedding bands, and my real e-ring is being made into a pendant, so I obviously think it’s perfectly fine to have more than one ring.

I like your Mother-In-Law better than mine.
I knew you would say that.
I am glad I am not the only one too. Will your second set be the same as youur first but in yellow gold are completely different? I was thinking of going with a completely new style from what I have.

@NovaRising: Completely different. My original set is a antique round “white” diamond with baguettes set in platinum.
I’m thinking a S-Z natural light yellow diamond set in yellow gold with a yellow gold shank but white diamond side-stones set in white gold or platinum for the next ring.
Maybe something like this but with a yellow gold shank:
