Honestly, I’d order down.  I’m in alternations hell because my dress is way too big (and it was 2 sizes smaller than the originally bought dress).

If you know you can lose the weight, order smaller.  Plus, given the corset back, you should be fine.

Size up. Always order to fit the biggest measurement, regardless of what your other measurements are.

A corset back is more forgiving-so I’d chance ordering down.  If you are good on the other measurements, I’d bet you’ll be fine.

Order a size larger and have it taken in. It’s easier to do that and impossible to make a small dress larger.

Since you are only a half inch off, you are confident about your ability to lose weight, it’s your waist (which is normally one of the easier areas to lose) AND it’s a corset, I would definitely go with the smaller size.  I bought a sample dress that was a little small.  It has been a great motivation to drop the pounds I wanted to lose anyway. And you have lots of time!

I was in between sizes also, and I ordered up. I’m so glad I did! Dresses are super easy to size down, but some don’t allow much for taking out to make it bigger. Plus, if for some reason things go funny in the next 9 months, you don’t want to be in a situation where you MUST lose weight to fit into your dress. Good luck!!!

hmm… if it’s a matter of a .5 inch in your hips and it’s a ball gown, I think you could be safe to order down.  I don’t honestly know what I would do.  If it’s possible, try on both sizes to see what you feel most comfortable in now.  Also, talk to your seamstress or your consultant at the store.  They would probably be able to help you make the best choice.

Good luck!!  I love corset backs… I think they’re beautiful!

Size up!  I can’t believe anyone would tell you otherwise.  the #1 rule of dress ordering is order to your largest measurement!  taking something in is way easier than taking something out, which might turn out to be impossible.

Since the waist measurement is only off a half inch, go with the smaller size.

    I’d risk the smaller size.
