This is my first topic here but I’ve been a long time lurker. Please help me pick between the two stones for a very similar style to eng880(seen below) from MoCo (my custom style will allow for a straight wedding band). I’ve read just about every thread regarding this cut and this style but I still can’t decide! Do you think this style of ring suits one cut of stone over the other? What are some things I need to consider?
There’s a difference of about $125 between the two (OEC being more expensive), but I’d say the price difference is not an issue.
Any advice or even just your participation in the poll would be super helpful!

I prefer oec moissanite over round brilliant moissanite. That ring style is very classic and would look great with either stone.

Oec. It’s the only cut I prefer for round stones. Other than Portuguese cut, but that’s not offered in moissy. Oec vote here

OEC for sure. An OEC is always my preference for round cuts, especially moissanite. I don’t like the round brilliant moissanites at all (but I have/have had a few of the OECs).
Also, to me it suits that setting. That is a very classic vintage-type setting (though with double prongs rather than fishtail prongs) and I always picture an old cut in a setting with baguettes like that.

OEC Because it seems like a vintage type setting. I have a forever brilliant OEC and I love it. It’s the perfect color. It has warmth but only in certain lighting.

I’m not a huge OEC fan, but I really like @UKbee
’s ring and with an OEC yours would be pretty much identical to hers. My only hesitation is that OEC already shows color more than most cuts, and it’s not an F1. Are you ok with this?

I swear I am the only bee who dislikes the OEC cut. I love the RB. Good luck!

This will be my ring, too!
I LOVE the OEC and secretly hope my SO went for it with this setting, but we aren’t engaged quite yet so I have no idea.
I’ve seen other bees with this setting (or similar) and I imagine it would look amazing with an OEC.

It depends on what you like! Do you want something that’s sparkly like a spintery disco ball, or do you want something that gives off big chunky flashes of light?

Hi bees, thanks for all your input!
I’ve decided to go for the OEC and I’m so damn excited! I’m okay about the colour, I’ve seen the F1 and FB in person and initially did prefer the F1 but the F1 IS super white. I only found out about OECs here and I’m so in love with the chunky flashes. Also going with the OEC allows me to have an all ‘space diamond’ ring – YES!
I ended up going for a more subtle version of the setting I was suggested for a straight wedding band and it turned out to be cheaper so WIN-WIN!
Thanks again, bees! Will be sure to post up a photo when it’s on my hand!
