If you have a luteal phase of normal length and you DID ovulate when the OPK predicted you should, you should be expecting your period in 12-14 days. Hence being in the “two week wait.” Now that you’re off the pill, do not expect 28-day cycles.

The first part of the cycle, the follicular phase, which is pre-O, determines the length of your cycle. If you ovlulate late, you still have the two weeks to go in the luteal phase. Don’t POAS for another week and a half! Fingers crossed you got lucky on the first try. 🙂

@chelles07:  if you got your positive opk on Thursday that indicates a surge in LH that means you’ll ovulate in 12-48 hours, so ovulation would have only JUST occurred on the weekend putting you at 3 days past ovulation MAX (Maybe even 1 dpo, in which case have sex again today just for good measure).  A “typical” luteal phase is around two weeks, so you wouldn’t want AF showing up today because that would indicate a luteal phase defect (you don’t want to much less than two weeks or your lining doesn’t thicken up enough to support a pregnancy.

Test again in like 10 days if AF still hasn’t shown up.

@chelles07:  you need to forget EVERYTHING about your cycle on Birth Control Pills – it has nothing to do with your cycle now that you’re off them.

Plus, your cycle may vary for the next few months while the hormones leave your system.

Most women will get their period 10-16 days after their final +OPK – there is very little point testing before 10DPO (only a minority of women get their BFP before this)

wishing you all the best!

@chelles07:  sorry, but I’m confused. You just got a positive OPK reading on Thursday and Friday? If that’s correct, that means you JUST ovulated, and won’t get your period for another 10 days or so.

even if you just conceived, you won’t get an accurate pregnancy test for another week.
