I was suppose to get married on August 17th (2013) and unfortunatly my fiance was very sick and in the hospital so we had to cancel the wedding. I called my reception site (which said they would hold our money for another date) and they said they are booked for the next two years, except a bride just cancelled her wedding for September 6th (2014). So I took that date (everything will obviously still depend on how my fiance is feeling). Anyways, so I am just starting to plan things again, but we dont know what to do about invitations. I am thinking we will send something, but I am not sure how to word everything, or if I should do the whole RSVP cards. Should I send invites to everyone again? (A lot of guests are from out of town and they werent planning on coming, and we know they wont come to this wedding either). I guess I am just overwhelmed with everything, so any opinions, or ways to word the new invitations are welcome!

I would send all new invitations, worded the way you would if this was the first go around. No need to explain all of this again – everyone already knows the first one in August didn’t happen. Just relax and start fresh! Hope your FI is feeling better!

@alyssa742: I would send out “ammend the dates”, and ask people to send you a call/text/e-mail if their RSVP changes!

@alyssa742: Definitely send new invitations or “amend the dates” or “change the dates”. People like paper! lol
I think a cute amend the date would be an adorable pic you playing nurse to your FI. And say “As Fi is on the mend, we would like to share with you our amended wedding date”

That’s really cute!
Alyssa, I am very sorry you had to cancel. How are you doing with all of this, and how is your fiance doing?
