Personally, I wouldn’t upgrade it if it’s your promise ring and not the engagement ring. Instead, I’d save that money for the engagement ring. Any future daughter will still love the promise ring.

It’s really pretty,  dosent look poor to me,  remember Kay and places like it will tell you, your ring not the best to get a sell from you.

sundevil17: I wouldn’t upgrade unless I were upgrading the whole ring because I’m allergic to nickel so some gold alloys just don’t work for me.

if you haven’t noticed the inclusions before, then it shouldn’t matter. Your daughter may have very different tastes in jewelry so better to just wait and see how it plays out.

sundevil17:  i don’t trust Kay’s.  She probably wanted to make some money. Ignore her! You have had your ring for years and never had a problem so why now?

no need to upgrade a promise ring.  Its perfect!  When it comes to an Engagement Ring check out online retailers like James Allen and Ritani.  Remember, the mark up on diamonds is over 200%, and you dont carry aound papers on a finger, find a diamond that looks good to you, no matter what the papers (or a lady at a jewelry store) say!

If you love it then that’s all that matters. If it’s only a promise ring then I wouldn’t upgrade it. Just wait until your engaged to get something else.

sundevil17:  the value of heirlooms is the sentiment, not the diamond quality. Itll be a relic of when you two were young and that’s what he could afford. Keep it, its part of the story and your daughter will cherish it regardless.

I think the ring is beautiful as is.  I agree with the others and wouldn’t upgrade a promise ring.  Besides, lots of these jewelry stores will tell you anything to get you to spend more money.

It really is a pretty a ring…just keep it the way it is and save money 🙂
