- Wedding: September 2013
This past weekend, I attended a local bridal show and had a great time. I got a lot of info. and met a lot of vendors. For the ones I was truly interested in, I gave them my regular email and cell #.
For the ones I was just being polite to, I gave them my “junk” email address and that was it.
So I was SHOCKED when I logged onto Facebook this evening to discover that I had a friend request from a husband/wife DJ/photography/uplighting/decor team.
I feel like this is TOTALLY over the line! Yes, I put my name and email on your sheet of paper, but really?
I honestly feel like contacting the brideshow director to complain. But I actually already complained to him once because when I registered for the show and entered my email for e-tickets, I also received 5 unsolicitated business emails from wedding vendors, despite the fact that they promised they wouldn’t give out my email.
Turns out, I accidently checked a box that I didn’t want to, and the director apologized, saying that many brides are confused by the registration portion. So I just changed my settings and it was cool.
But this whole Facebook-friending this is ridiculous! I’m literally, like, speechless.
Am I over-reacting or is this lady a super creeper who is WAY too desperate for my business?
(and yes, I denied her friend request right away).
