As a jeweler and jewelry manufacturer I can confidently say that they should be able to size the ring for you to a 5.5 with no issues of diamonds falling out. If they are unable to do that then you may need to find yourself a master jeweler that is reputable in your area. I would personally not have any problem sizing this ring with side stones. If it is an issue you can aske them to make a “euro shank” that would not affect the diamonds in any way.

It really depends on the experience of the bench jeweler. If it were my guys or a ring that we made i wouldnt worry. If they sized it right the first or second time this really wouldnt be an issue.

Another soluction you may want to put a couple of balls on the bottom of the shank may help.

If that’s the case and it was their error maybe they need to reset it for you. It’s not your fault they screwed up the second time they resized it. That’s a major investment you’ll wear forever and it should fit you properly. Just my thoughts.
