So, my dress has been picked up and my mother has started alterations on it.
Everything has been going great until last Sunday when I wen to try it on after my mom has changed a few things and the zipper brakes! Now, I know it’s nothing that she did and now we have to search everywhere to find a zipper that matches my dress.
My concern is if I should say anything to the bridal shop we bought the dress from? We have only had the dress for 2 weeks and the zipper breaks, that doesn’t seem right! I’m not expecting them to give us a refund or anything but just let them know so they can inform the dress manufacturer.
I don’t know if this makes a difference or not but the sample dress I tried on at the shop also had a busted zipper.
Anyone have an experience like this?

I think I would inform them. Plus maybe they can help you get a new matching zipper at least.

I’d let them know, as well. They may know how to obtain a zipper or know someone who can fix the zipper in a time crunch.

I agree you should absolutely let them know. You never know.. they may offer at least a partial discount to cover the cost of replacing the zipper.

Thank you! I never thought about the fact that they might know where I could get a new zipper.

I would sure say something! I can’t believe a zipper would fall apart after two weeks. If nothing else, they may be able to give you the number of the company to order a replacement zipper.

@rebeltreble I couldn’t believe it either! We almost had to cut the zipper just to get me out of it. My mom was having a field day with the alterations because she says there where so many seams that where sewn then taken apart and sewn over again. Really sketchy.

I agree with letting the salon know so that they can at least help you out on locating a new zipper or even replace the zipper for you!
