    If in doubt, send them out. Especially since your wedding is near a major holiday (Labor Day).

    I think an email would be faster than snail mail.  That’s prime vacation time, people may have already booked.

    How many people are traveling? If it’s a lot I’d do Save-The-Date Cards. If it was Labor Day weekend I would say definately, but you might be okay the weekend before. But they’re fairly easy and cheap.

    @HisIrishPrincess:  +1

    Paperless post has some really beautiful Save the Dates. Some are free, and others are cheap. Plus, they’re eco-friendly!

    @lanalnoco:  i second paperless post. i voted yes, send save the dates, but only if you can get them out right away. otherwise, paperless post is a great option. i always recommend save the dates to people, even if most of your guests are local.

    I think it can’t hurt to send them, but an e-mail will do. I am a week later on Labor Day weekend, so I definitely had to send them, and I did paper because it was the first thing people were going to have from the wedding. I’ve seen them up on peoples’ fridges so that’s a nice perk of paper over e-mail. The cost and effort savings will be big for e-mail, though. Plus, you could probably get them out today with email, whereas with paper, you will have to wait a while longer.

    @Swizzle:  I agree.  Its too close to the wedding to send out Save-The-Date Cards.  Use word of mouth to pass the news of when the wedding is to friends and family.

    @TaurianDoll:  If you had known all those people would be traveling from so far than Save-The-Date Cards should of been sent out LONG ago.  GL.

    @TaurianDoll:  Oh good!  You had me worried!  I know I wouldn’t be able to pull international travel fees out of my arse this fast. haha.
