Should I tell my mom not to dress like a cougar?

Unless the dress would also be inappropriate on an 18 year old (like the ones posted above!!) let her go with it. Why should there be different standards for different (but still adult) ages?

I wouldn’t say my mom dresses like a cougar but she does have the tendency to have her boobs or bra hanging out. I would go shopping with her and compromise. If you send her on own to pick out something you may not be able to steer her in the right direction.

48 is pretty young – your mom is only a few years older than I am – so please don’t try and make her wear something frumpy just because you’re getting married.  Dresses marketer as MOB/MOG dresses tend to be frump, matronly, and not fashion forward. There are literally thousands of beautiful cocktail and evening dresses out there, and your mom has been dressing herself for a long time.  I’m sure she can find something suitable that makes her feel attractive.

I also don’t think I’ve ever seen a MOB deliberately wearing the same color dress as the bridesmaids.  I think that would be kind of odd, and I’d wonder if the MOB was a bridesmaid or thought she was a bridesmaid.

And I’d also love to see what you consider to be a cougar dress…
