I used Coral’s bridal and was happy with the results. I have a thread about it somewhere- but I’m too lazy right now to link to it.

Check jasminesbridalshop.com – it seems like a lot of bees have gone through them and been happy. I plan on having them custom make a dress once I decide what I want. They have examples of dresses they have made on their Facebook.

I think I would order the dress from DB to save the stress…I can see potential difficulties in replicating this dress from getting its proportions, fit, rosette details, etc. right.

It is very much over your budget to buy the original? Or could you cut the budget elsewhere to pay for the dress?

Maybe. It will probably be really shiny fabric. But the good thing is that it isn’t lace, and as long as they get the main shape right, it wouldn’t be hard to DIY that flowery area if you have to.

If you do this, definitely post pics!

I suggest Jasmine’s Bridal Shop. They are a tad more expensive than a typical Chinese dress replica site, but it’s worth the peace of mind, especially since they don’t hesitate to send photos of the dress mid-production. Rachael above (Suzhou traveler) said the biggest difference between Premium and Designer grade fabric is in organza, and since your dress looks like satin on top and organza for the flowers, I think you could go Premium and still have a great looking dress. The organza dresses in Premium look great on their site. You would be saving around half the cost of that White by Vera Wang dress. 🙂

I’m getting organza/tulle/satin swatches in Premium and Designer in the mail in about 1.5 weeks! I’ll try my best to let you know how they look.

@magentasky:  I tried on this dress in DB before and I also saw many chinese replica wedding gowns when I was in China this July. I don’t think it’s a great idea that you order this dress from China for the following two reasons:

1. I don’t think you can really get the same fabric and quality as the DB’s.

2. It’s not worthy to save just a few hundred dollars but go through so much stress.

Hope my experiences help!

From what i’ve seen…the White by Vera wang dresses are gorgeous…but the fabric and overall quality of the craftsmanship is nowhere near a full priced vera wang. As always, you get what you pay for (well sort of). The fabrics really were not as nice as I had hoped for, and the white was like blue white..not good. I would go with Jasmines…you can order designer grade fabrics which will be on par or better than the davids bridal…and you wont be spending over your budget for what is realistically something you will not use again. And you can change anythng you want and add anything you want…be custom!

DB is having a big sale right now so check out the price on their website…maybe it’s low enough that you can pay to have embellishments added
