I know I am very indecisive but I just cannot seem to make up my mind. 🙂 I want to get a replacement engagement ring for the one I lost years ago by this November for our 10th anniversary. We are very limited in budget. I have a sapphire we bought, but honestly I am so up in the air right now about it. I also have a blue Zircon which I love but I know it is a softer stone and have to think about that in every day wear. My other option would be to get a swiss blue topaz. At least the blue topaz is cheaper to replace. I am at home most the time and would take my ring off before housework or showering. i would appreciate some help in deciding.
Here is my sapphire

Here is my zircon

I am open to all suggestions and appreciate any feedback. Thank you so much in advance. oh and sorry if the pics are too big. I am doing this on my phone.

Why are you up in the air about the sapphire? I think it’s a beautiful stone, and I really love that cut.

@lilcafe: Thank you!
@missmess: Well I like the sapphire, but that pic was taken directly under the light in our room. The stone darkens up a lot, and part of me wants a bluer stone . Thank you

I would do your beautiful blue sapphire or a lab-made sapphire to remake your ring. Sapphires are the strongest stones among your options, and so beautiful. White sapphires do look oily and dirty easily. I have a white sapphire ring and I like the particular sparkle and appearance, but it clouds up faster than my diamond ring. I just clean it, but it’s something to think about 😉

I love the sapphire.. The cut and the color is so pretty..
If you want lighter blue, why not get another sapphire? The lighter blue is usually cheaper than the deep color.

The blue sapphire….pleeeeease! Love that color & cut, and it seems like a nice size too. What is the mm size & carat weight, if you don’t mind my asking?

From what I see in the photos, the zircon looks more beautiful to me. Yes it’s a softer stone but perhaps put it in a bezel setting and be ok with the fact that you may have to replace it down the line/wear it less often. I do love sapphires, but the lighter blue of that zircon is so pretty.
