Is it a formal engagement party?

Personally I’d go with the tea length one, unless it’s a black tie event I wouldn’t wear the long one

I think the shorter one is more appropriate for an engagement party, unless it is a black tie event.

Tea length unless its black tie, in which case the 1st would be more appropriate

Agreeing with the PPs the tea length one would be the best, unless it is a formal party.

Unless you have been informed that the event is formal, I would choose the short cocktail length dress.

The second dress is not tea length. A tea length dress is longer.
