Hello ladies, i could use your advice. Ive always loved the idea of wearing a long veil at my wedding but i have short spikey hair
so im not quite sure if a) will i suit a veil and b) what kind of veil.
My dress is a floor length tulle gown

I think it’s fine to wear a veil with short hair. Think of it this way: it is literally the only time you can wear a veil in your life (other than Halloween, I guess!)

If you want to wear a veil, you should go for it! I would probably try on some different styles at a wedding dress store first (preferably with your gown so you can see how it goes together) and just see what suits and what looks best!

I agree with others that you should wear one if you want it! I have short hair and am going with a mini tulle veil.
Try some on with your dress. See what you prefer.
Here’s a pic of me while I was making my veil sparkle. (bought the plain veil and added swarovski rhinestones to it)

@sammyjo2012011: Yes wear a veil. as a PP mentioned, how often in your life can you actually wear one?

Definately go with a veil if it’s what you always wanted. I’d decided I didn’t want a veil until I tried one on with my dress, and have ended up with one! I wouldn’t worry about the length of your hair, mine’s shoulder length but will all be pinned up so under a veil it will look short anyway!

I say wear one! Once in a lifetime opportunity (hopefully). I’m sure you can find one that suits short hair, you should try some on. Also, work with your hairdresser to come up with a hairstyle that suits the veil.

Wear one! I love the idea of a blusher veil with short hair, it seems to work really well.

@sammyjo2012011: Will your hair be longer when you get married? I noticed your date said 2014. I think short hair looks great with birdcage veils too but I think you should wear any veil you want and looks best with your dress! 🙂

If you want one, wear one. It’s fine with short hair!

I think your hair would look GORGEOUS contrasted with a super long, flowy veil!

I think you would look beautiful in a long flowy veil! I say go for it! 😀

My cousin had a very similar hairstyle to yours and she wore a long veil for her reception. It looked gorgeous with her hair!
You can always try it on at any bridal salon to see if you like it!

Thank you ladies for all of your responses. I was hoping to keep my hair short for the wedding. I have been bridal shopping before but my hair was shoulder length so i had my hair very kate middlelton half up half down, i wasnt sure if my quirky hair would look right with a traditional veil. Off to the bridal shop for me!
